European Youth Parliament is a non-partisan and independent educational program for young European citizens.
Our mission is to support the development of young people into politically-aware and responsible citizens by involving them in European political thinking and promoting intercultural understanding. |
EYP encourages independent thinking and initiative in young people and facilitates the learning of crucial social and professional skills.
It involves 40,000 youngsters from all around Europe in its events and has around 5,000 active members in different countries. Today EYP is one of the largest European platforms for political debate, intercultural encounters, political educational work and the exchange of ideas among young people in Europe. The EYP consists of a network of 41 European associations and organizations in which thousands of young people are active in a voluntary capacity. The European Youth Parliament organizes more than 200 events every year. Though differing in duration, the number of participants and represented countries as well as thematic focus, the sessions follow a similar pattern. The basic idea of a session is that the delegates come together in multinational committees, each committee looking at a different topic. |
